Dinarte and Mirra Fernandez from La Perla Restaurant approached us recently with a fantastic offer of the entire takings on 16th September to the Home. Having had two successful charity days over the last two years they chose us to benefit this year at the suggestion of a friend Gary Wilcox, who is a good supporter of the Home.
Dinarte and Mirra and their team not only donated their time and energy (10am through to 11pm) but also took nothing for the produce or wine sold. Dinarte ensured that there was a special menu (lobster and steak included!). It was a sell-out at lunch and dinner, including donations from customers and staff La Perla raised a fantastic £3,792.87.
Dinarte and Mirra visited the Home yesterday to hand over the cheque.
Dinarte said that he prepared and cooked all day ‘with love in his heart ‘ for the good cause of the Guernsey Cheshire Home’ and Cherry McMillen of the support group of staff and residents thanked Dinarte, Mirra and their team for their hard work and kindness.
