We are teaming up with Arts For Impact for the third year to create a wonderful collage of a special part of our island, La Vallette.
This unique project gives the residents and day visitors the opportunity to collectively develop the ideas and hand-make all the elements for the artwork.
As some of you will know, in 2017 & 2018 the group created pieces inspired by the West Coast and the Bridge and we were delighted that Art for Guernsey showcased the pieces alongside their international artists’ September exhibitions in Guernsey Market Buildings. David Ummels wishes to do the same again for 2019, which only adds to the drive and motivation to make the artwork very special.
“We are half way through and it is wonderful to see the project coming together. The participants are using the skills from previous years’ projects and expanding on them further. The staff are getting involved too which hugely adds to that collective sense of purpose. There are so many cognitive and physical benefits to working on a creative project like this – there are problems to solve along the way and together we work out great solutions!”
